The New York Knicks came into Philadelphia on Sunday, May 10, looking to close out a series sweep over the 76ers. Miles McBride made sure it wasn’t even close.
McBride led the Knicks with 25 points on 7-of-9 shooting from 3-point range Sunday as New York routed the Philadelphia 76ers 144-114 to complete a sweep of the Eastern Conference semifinals. They advance to the Eastern Conference finals for the second consecutive year.
The Knicks made 24 of 43 attempts from beyond the arc, including a flaming hot 11-of-13 from three-point range in the first quarter and went into the halftime having hit 17 three-pointers to lead 78-53 at the half of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Jalen Brunson had 22 points, Karl-Anthony Towns had 17 points and 10 assists, and Josh Hart had 17 points and nine rebounds.
The Sixers had no answer.
McBride, who started in place of the injured OG Anunoby, came back from sports hernia surgery in late March and barely registered in eight appearances before Anunoby’s injury forced him into the lineup in Game 3.
Anunoby was hurt in Game 2 of the series driving to the basket. He has been listed as day-to-day since, but he has missed the last two games. Anunoby was averaging 21.4 points and 7.5 rebounds a game in the postseason before being hurt.
The win Sunday gave the Knicks their first sweep since 1999.
